Many Windows users who have to connect to the Internet using a VPN,  are aware of how inconvenient it is - each time you restart the operating system you need to connect manually. This manual will help to fix this inconvenience and create an automatic connection.

1. First, create and configure VPN-connection;
2. Then, open the Windows Registry Editor (Start → All Programs → Accessories → Run → regedit) and find this section:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
(autorun for the current user)

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
(autorun for all users)

3. In this section create a "string value" with any name (RMB click → New → String Value);
4. And instead of the value of the newly created parameter, input the following line:
rasdial "connection_name" username password

For example:
rasdial "VPN_provider" nextwindows 12345

Thanks for this article, it did the trick.

The only problem is, you're storing your password in plain text, in Windows Registry. If someone knows where the autostart Registry keys are, they would be able to learn your password. Which is not much of a problem on a home PC, but might not be advisable on a laptop you use outside of home.
